The Key to Thriving Under Pressure

2025 already feels like it is moving too fast, and I am enjoying the ride. But...
I know all too well what is on the other side of moving way too quickly for my mind, body, and soul. I have experienced it myself and heard it from so many leaders.
It is the moments you miss because you are already onto the next thing.
The tension in your body because you forgot to take slow, deep breaths.
The exhaustion that sneaks up on you as you realise you have been sitting in your chair for four hours straight.
Interestingly, all of this is happening even though you enjoy your job, have great customers, and work with an incredible team.
The Quiet Knowing That Something Needs to Change
That inner voice is telling you: something has to shift.
And, it doesn’t have to be big.
But it has to be intentional.
Otherwise, burnout, disconnection, and stress will wreak havoc on your vitality, performance, and relationships.
The Power of Somatic Intelligence
My invitation is to start developing your somatic intelligence - an awareness of how your body responds to different stimuli and the ability to use that learning to navigate challenges.
Try these simple shifts:
✨ Feeling stressed? Relax your shoulders, stretch your arms, and then take five calm breaths.
✨ Rushing to a meeting? Slow down your walk and soften your gaze.
✨ Losing focus or feeling overwhelmed? Feel your feet firmly on the ground and focus your eyes on one spot, gently.
✨ Getting angry? Move your body - shake it off (literally), take a quick walk, and if you can, make a sound.
✨ Overcome with tiredness? Take a nap. If you cannot take a nap, dance. Put on your favourite song and move freely. Let the vibration energise you. Still, if you can, take that nap.
Leading Starts with Taking Care of Yourself
Take care of yourself so you can take care of others.
Allow others to take care of you - it creates deeper bonds.
Leading by example in times of complexity starts with taking care of your well-being.
Notice how your mindset shifts when you put these into practice.
There is more space, more options, and more insight that you can mobilise to embrace success.
